How Can I Go Backward or Forward Quickly in Kindle with A PDF Document?

With Kindle Books, usually you navigate by finding the chapter in the index and then scrolling backward or forward.  But this doesn't work with PDF.  Instead of "location" numbers, you have page numbers.  But the process is similar to location number.

I have a new Kindle (Oct. 2010), and I transferred a PDF document to it.   I could find no info on how to advance the Kindle within a PDF document.  Unless you know the page number,  it may be hard to get to the exact chapter or page you desire. When you open it, you will see a certain ratio of pages.  For example, mine says, (1 of  753).

So if I want to get to about the middle, I would aim for page 380 or so.  I hit the menu key and select "Go to...", pressing on the Square enter button.

Instead of pressing the "page" number (which seem intuitive), I press the "Sym" button.  Then I key in 380 but using the arrows to the right of the square enter button, and then entering each number a digit at a time.  After the numbers appear in the big box, I hit the "Sym" button to remove the numerical keyboard.

Then I click the down arrow and "page" is highlighted.  Now I enter and I am at that page.

Hope this helps!
